Whether it’s summer or fall, this strawberry-peach ginger smoothie will delight your tastebuds and have you longing for tropical climates in no time.
Isn’t the color of this strawberry peach ginger smoothie so uplifting? The taste doesn’t disappoint either. This smoothie will always be one of my (many) favorites and remind of the start of my long love affair with smoothies. I’m always inclined to add leafy greens to this smoothie, but I know that would change the vibrant color, something I’m just not willing to do with this smoothie.
A Vibrant Smoothie
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had a deep love for strawberries, oranges, and peaches. I never cared for most foods growing up (eating was just something I had to do), but I felt so differently about fruits.
Fast forward into adulthood — I just love food, period. I love these fruits just as much as I did when I was younger, if not more. However, I haven’t been using oranges in my smoothies lately because I’d always resort to store-bought orange juice (which is loaded with sugar and no fiber), but this last week I bought a generous box of oranges from Costco which I needed to get through (you know, that moment when they’ve been sitting on the counter a little too long).
So, I decided it would take way too long to eat all of them so….. why not juice them. And who doesn’t love fresh-squeezed orange juice?
I also needed to get through a big box of peaches and strawberries so I decided to make my old favorite instead. It was one of the first smoothies I made when I first got into smoothies. I wasn’t quite ready for the greens just yet, but was fine blending away large quantities of fruit.
The Perfect Starter Smoothie
I would like to call this smoothie a delicious “starter” smoothie — perfect for those who seem a little skeptical of smoothies in general. Usually, they are apprehensive of the whole concept of smoothies. While it’s mostly fruits, the yogurt adds healthy fats and protein to it. Ginger is known for relieving digestive issues (such as nausea and indigestion). It also gives the smoothie a little kick of spice.
I’ve been adding a boost of vitamin C wherever I can get it right now as the weather is changing and that’s usually when I would get sick in the past.
Well, you’re going to love this smoothie. The ginger gives this traditional smoothie a kick.
