Walnut Apple Crisp

This walnut apple crisp is a healthy version of the classic apple crisp dish. Made without any refined sugar, this has always been a crowd-pleaser! Packed with fresh apples, walnuts, rolled oats, cinnamon and other real food, you’ll love this guilt-free treat!

  • 2 apples diced
  • 1 tbsp lemon or lime juice
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 3 tbsp oat flour process or blend 1/2 cup of rolled oats using your food processor or high-speed blender
  • 3/4 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup walnuts roughly chopped
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil melted
  • a pinch of sea salt


  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. To make the filling, combine apples, lime juice, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, vanilla extract, 1 tbsp maple syrup, and 1 tbsp oat flour in a bowl. Mix well and set aside while you make the topping.
  3. To make the topping, combine rolled oats, 2 tbsp oat flour, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, walnuts, salt in a bowl. Drizzle with coconut oil and maple syrup. Mix well until the ingredients are well coated.
  4. Prepare the apple crisp by filling two greased ramekins or a small baking dish with the apple filling. Fill until it's 3/4 full -- you may have some toppings leftover based on the size of your dish. Now add the topping and gently pack so it's filled to the top.
  5. Bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes until the oats are golden brown. Remove carefully from the oven and let the dish cool before serving. Enjoy!
